Promises have always been important to me. Pinky Swear and all. You know. You lock little pink fingers with a really good friend and they swear we will always be friends. Some of those pinky swear friends are still with me.
Friends are so important. I remember telling my grandsons that when they feel like all their friends have forsaken them, they shouldn’t worry. They simply need to turn inward and search out friends who are always there.
When the sky around us is falling, where do we go? We don’t have to go anywhere, but to our friends: God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit. The Trinity always with us. To the Bible. To God’s promises. I’ve learned so much studying my Bible especially in the last two years.
As we turn into Fall with tree leaves starting to change color, Peace and Love become even more important. Our friends add to both and our job is to share it. Pinky Swear!
Romans 12:10-12 “Love worketh no ill to his neighbor, therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand; let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.”
