Still thinking about friends. I kept coming back to the word “precious.” Friends who have not only “been there” for us, they’ve also “been through” a lot of things with us. Things includes teething babies, terrific two year olds, rowdy boys and piles of pillowed slumber parties for tween girls. Personal losses of other relatives and friends. We’ve tried to reciprocate, especially in times like these.
Memories from all that togetherness includes sitting in the crowd at a basketball game surrounded by those friends. I took a time out opportunity to ask husbands in the crowd what day of the week their wife was “weird.” For something I was writing. The consensus was Wednesday was “weird” day.
We are still “going through” things. But these too shall pass. We share prayer concerns and faith, happy things and sad. We know who’s in charge. God said it, we believe it and that settles it.
Matthew 11:28-30 “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
