Sing Peace, call for Peace, quietly protest for Peace, but most of all, Pray for Peace. Personal Peace can bring World Peace. Because someone who knows us all is expecting us to Speak Up For Peace. I have never protested anything by yelling for Peace. That seems a dichotomy to me. If I have to yell, I must not be at Peace in my Heart. Which only comes when I understand I am not in charge.
A few times in my life I was in charge of things, sometimes I was drafted into a position or accepted a position because I understood its responsibilities. Being in charge of children in any area of my life always made me very aware that Peace was a fragile commodity. Even small children, though, understand Peace. They crave Peace much of the time. Takes simple things like a hug or a clean diapers to make them peaceful after a crying session.
I often shed tears when I’m at Peace. I cry, at funerals almost always, but Peace can be there, in the mortuary or the cemetery, Peace can sneak up on me when I least expect it. I find arguments unnecessary, most of the time. Negotiations can bring Peace, but War does not often bring Peace. The end of it only brings a chance for renewal, of the Peace prayed for, or the continuance of the conflict past all expected consequences.
As we approach Easter, I am reminded that the Son who died on the cross for our sins is often referred to as the Prince of Peace. Even He, however, stood strong to deliver the messages His Father requested He spread to Their Loved Ones. Our way to True Peace is through Him. Holy Week coming up. There are wars of all kinds being fought around the world in the names of the people IN CHARGE. If you were in charge, would you be able to spread your peace around? Would you be able to love all the people in the world? Only when we work to bring our world to an understanding of the Peace He gives, will this poor old world perhaps show signs of Peace somewhere.
Psalm 29:11 “I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.”
1 Peter 3:10-11”For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and let his lips that he speak no guile: 11. Let him eschew evil and do good; let him seek peace and ensue it.”
