Zig Ziglar was a popular Christian evangelist and author who spoke all over the world. His essential theme was positivity always. Louie and I heard him speak a couple of times, and he was so good. He paced the stage and spoke with almost the speed of light. He taught you to listen well.
Such fun. A story teller, a compassionate person, Zig insisted that we pay attention to the people around us. Surround yourself with positive people and pick up that habit. I remember him saying that you must never have an alarm clock in your bedroom. You don’t want to wake to an alarm, he told us. When we heard that buzz we should immediately think of it as our Opportunity Clock. God has given us another opportunity to take His Son to the world around us.
Being positive in this world today isn’t always easy. The news is full of bad news. A murder, shooting, a war. I watch TBN constantly for my fill of positive information and even a different perspective of the present wars, putting good where they can find it and report it. Letting us know as Christians where we can help.
We’re called to believe, love and help where we can. Most of all, we must love God. That’s what He looks for from us. To believe, love Him and do what He tells us to in His word. We won’t know what He wants unless we read His book. As the author of the Bible, God knows how the story ends. Moving closer to Him always should be our goal.
John 14:1-3 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2. In my Father’s house are many mansions: If it were not true I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3. And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself; that where I am; there ye may be also.”
