Where Do We Go From Here?

by Joanne Wiklund

According to a website called Time and Date, Fall began yesterday, Sunday, Sept. 22nd. That means the hours were almost equal for day and night yesterday. This event is known as the September Equinox. According to their site, Fall ends December 21st. That means when we have Christmas, it’s officially Winter.

A fairly definitive explanation of this event is also found on the site with scientific definitions of Spring Equinox and September Equinox. I don’t understand all this, but I know I prefer Spring to Fall. In the Fall in our climate everything seems to be dying back and Spring color explodes instead. I like fresh growth.

Do you suppose God planned it that way so we can choose to live in a place that suits us? Even though snowstorms and cold weather are coming, I can keep going because I know the season of Spring will come around again eventually.

But wait! God has a plan for our life. Does that also mean He has chosen where we are supposed to live? Sure, to begin with he picked our parents. So He may have considered it. But we have free will, we love Him, choose Him, we follow Him. Where does He lead us? Sounds like a plan to me! Relax and go for it. Just keep listening to His lead!

James 1:11 “For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so that shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

1 Peter 1:24-25 “For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away. But the word of the Lord endureth forever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.”
