Rivers of Water

by Joanne Wiklund

Stories of how people escaped waters in the Southeast USA which ran down mountains continue to pour in. Family members watched other family members swept away before their very eyes. It’s so heartbreaking. Tears are close these days. Prayers continue for miracles and there have been many reported already.

Even with seriously professional forecasts pending, no one could have predicted just how bad those Southeast states would be hit. They kept saying every day it was getting worse, but forecasters did the right thing urging people to leave. Evacuations were higher than ever. People saw what happened with Helene and packed up and left.

Help is still needed to represent Jesus everywhere. People from our community are gathering donations and filling trucks to drive South. They are putting their lives on hold to go cut up trees, clean up mud, help survivors pick up what’s left of their shattered lives. More than 20 elementary school children are still missing, among others.

We are so blessed. Finding ways to help is important. Help any way you can.

Psalms 119:28 “My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.”

Psalms 119:26 “Blessed be  he that cometh in the name of the Lord: we have blessed you out  of the house of the Lord.”
