On Into Spring!

by Joanne Wiklund

Is it just me, or is time flying by? We’re almost to April. I love Spring. Flowers blooming. I see a dark spot out by the big evergreen out front and I know it’s where a bundle of daffodils are hiding. My favorite flower. If I were a flower I’d be a daffodil. What would you be?

What kind of a flower do your friends seem to you? Can you assign them a flower name? I have some who are roses, of course. I have some who are lilacs, they always smell so good. Others are evergreens, not flowers. They seem to be able to withstand adversity, and not be affected by it. I read somewhere that trees that bend will never break. It’s the old, dried up trees that lose their branches.

But we had a white birch that used to break so easily in the wind and Hubby hated to clean up around it after a storm. I felt so bad when it finally died and we had to cut it down. My yard seemed so empty. But I am looking forward to planting some thing good this year. I’m not sure what or where. A red sugar maple. I love them. Can you imagine sitting down and designing trees? So many kinds? Our Creator sure did know what He was doing. On into Spring everyone!

Psalms 100:1-3  “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness, come before His presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.”
