The sun is shining as I write this. We need sun to make our days better. But a change of seasons is essential for some of us. A change of seasons signals a time to make changes in our surroundings, our chores and our outlook on life in general. Not sure if I could handle 70 degrees year round. Hawaii is experiencing a major change in weather this week and even snow way up high on a mountain there. Accompanied by a deluge or two of rain and mud slides, it’s a change from the paradise we think of when we think of that island.
Some people are born to wander; they love a change of space and scenery to keep their outlook to their pattern of living. I’m just so settled, I guess. There are places I’d love to visit, but sleeping in our own beds is important also, to some of us. Other people change houses, not locations. I’m here. Since the pandemic started, I’ve REALLY been here. I’ve learned so much, done so many things, some are new projects, some are old comfortable ones. A major life change is a deep learning experience.
The second sentence in this missive says, “We need sun to make our days better.” I still believe that, but I have to revise the spelling of a word in it. The third word ‘Sun’ must be changed to ‘SON’ to reflect our perfect need. With ‘Sun’ in our lives we get more Vitamin D. With the ‘SON’ in our lives, we get more Vitamin L. Haven’t heard of that one? Vitamin L is LOVE. The more of it we give out, the more we get in return. Strange how that works. Having a bad day? Speak to someone who you know really loves you. Hang up the phone and call someone else who needs some of that love as much or more than you do. “Love in your heart wasn’t put there to stay, Love isn’t Love till you give it away!”
1 John 1:11 “For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.”
1 John 4:9-11 “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10. Here in is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.”
