New computer is in place, and I’ve been cranking out words. I’m trying to set a schedule of sorts so I can do Morning Pages. Late afternoon is not a good time and words escape me. The idea of me trying to catch them is not a fun thing. It’s much more fun writing when the words just pop into your head and you write them down.
Cookie baking is back on the agenda. I’m trying to get the freezer full but it’s hard to keep it that way. When people do stuff for us, they often won’t let pat anything but materials. So I tell them cookies are our currency of record right now and so far no one has turned them down. I’ve been getting a little more creative with them. Oatmeal raisin is number one, with chocolate chip close behind.
Pecans with pumpkin, or Lemon, or just maybe Ginger Creams. I actually used my zester with lemons after soaking them in hot water and vinegar. They were really clean after that. The smell in the kitchen as I zested the lemons was so good. The cookies weren’t bad, either!
Find something to do that you really love and make time, not take time, to do it. I’ve already looked at Christmas cards and thought about Christmas gifts. I’ve forgotten Halloween, I don’t like being scared. I am totally in love with Christmas, but Thanksgiving is right up there. No gifts to buy, no presents to wrap. Just a great meal and a great family gathering. Or pizza and a great family gathering. Heard there is a shortage of turkeys. As long as we have something to eat, it’s just good to get together and say thanks that we’ve made it another year.
Psalm 41:3 “The Lord nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health.”
Matthew 14:36 “They begged Him to let the sick touch at least the fringe of His robe, and all who touched him were healed.”
Proverbs 17:22 “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
Cookie baking is therapeutic for me and I love the way my kitchen smells. Thanks for sharing. First time reader of your blog. Long time friend.
