Financial Peace University
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
Dave Ramsey and his teaching team will walk you through the basics of budgeting, dumping debt, planning for the future, and much more. This class starts January 26th and will meet each Sunday evening (5pm) at the church. This is open to ALL interested participants in our church or community. These classes are a great way to share ideas, be encouraged, and stay motivated. Classes meet for nine weeks and are led by our pastor. One Financial Peace University membership per family is all you need to get started in a class. Scholarships are available.
Lesson 1. Baby Step1 & Budgeting (Sunday 1/26) – You’ll learn the course overview and the 7 Baby Steps—our proven, step-by-step plan to win with money! Take a deep dive into Baby Step 1, saving $1,000 for your starter emergency fund, and discover the key to your success: the budget.
Lesson 2. Baby Step 2 (Sunday 2/2) – Baby Step 2 is paying off all debt (except the house) using the debt snowball. You’ll learn that debt is not a tool to build wealth—it’s a thief! But with our proven method, gazelle intensity, and a lot of prayer, you can get rid of those payments once and for all!
Lesson 3. Baby Step 3 (Sunday 2/9) – Baby Step 3 is saving 3–6 months of expenses in a fully funded emergency fund. The emergency fund is Murphy repellent. It protects you from reaching for a credit card to cover emergencies, and it keeps you from living in fear of the next surprise expense!
Lesson 4. Baby Steps 4-7 (Sunday 2/16) – Lesson 4 covers Baby Steps 4, 5, 6 and 7! Baby Step 4 is to invest 15% of your household income in retirement. Baby Step 5 is to save for your children’s college fund. Baby Step 6 is to pay off your home early. And Baby Step 7 is to build wealth and give with outrageous generosity!
Lesson 5. Wise Spending (Sunday 2/23) – There are a million marketing tactics trying to get at your money and bust your budget, but in Lesson 5, you’ll learn how to gain power over your purchases! Learn when to put your shields up to defend your dollars—and when to get your dollars out and negotiate for a deal.
Lesson 6: Understanding Insurance (Sunday 3/2) – Lesson 6 is not your typical boring and confusing insurance talk. You’ll clearly understand the seven types of insurance you actually need and what you definitely don’t need. Getting the right insurance in place is one of the most important parts to your defensive game plan!
Lesson 7: Building Wealth (Sunday 3/9) – You can retire with dignity when you build a solid nest egg. In Lesson 7, you’ll learn how to think and act like a millionaire by investing the right way—slowly, consistently, and simply, in things you actually understand.
Lesson 8: Buying & Selling Your Home (Sunday 3/16) – A house is the largest financial investment you’ll ever make, so make sure you know the right way to buy one! In Lesson 8, you’ll learn about renting, refinancing, selling, and when and how to buy your dream home.
Lesson 9: Outrageous Generosity (Sunday 3/23) – You can do everything we teach and you will prosper, but if you don’t understand this lesson, you will never have financial peace. In Lesson 9, you’ll learn how to manage money—God’s money—with an open hand and a generous heart.

It’s easy to feel like you’re the only one in your situation. But no matter where you are on your financial journey—sitting at rock bottom or just trying to do better—we’ve seen this class work for millions of people who:
• Have a huge amount of debt
• Have nothing saved for retirement
• Can’t get on the same page with their spouse about money
• Are facing a financial crisis
• Are newly widowed or divorced
• Are living paycheck to paycheck
• Have a low to average income
• Can’t keep up with their bills
In fact, the average FPU graduate is debt-free in two years or less!
You’ll go through the class with a group of people each week at church. Once a week for nine weeks, you’ll watch a video lesson (each one is about an hour long) and then meet as a group for discussions and activities that drive each lesson home. (Aka, the most transformative part of FPU!)
And the results speak for themselves. FPU graduates pay off an average of $5,300 in debt and save an average of $2,700 in just 90 days. That’s a financial turnaround of $8,000—all for a few hours of your time over a few months. (Sounds like a no-brainer.)
