Put on your Track Shoes

Spring is well on it’s way, and time is picking up speed. At least it seems that way to me. We just get busier and busier and have to find new ways to cope. Friends and I talked this week about a lack of patience hitting us recently. Things seem to hit the frustration, aggravation button sooner than usual. We credited it to that word busy.

Busy is not necessarily good. Sometimes a lack of setting priorities gets us into the middle of “Busy” before we know it. Then we have to find patience to cope with distractions we set upon ourselves. Some of those distractions are not necessarily ours to undertake. Do we take on more than we should?  Of course we do. That’s who we are. Multi-tasking is a force to be reckoned with. I remember when I could multi-task, but these days simply tasking can be difficult.

In discussion with friends and family, we have decided that patience is learned, not given. If we pray for patience, God will let us have trials to learn patience. If we trust Him and accept His Will in our lives, we have Hope. Because His Son is Hope. Need patience? Trust and Obey. That’s got to be my song of the week! The following Scripture seems to put the whole thing in perspective:

Romans 5:3 “And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also; knowing that tribulations worketh patience; 4. and patience, experience; and experience, hope; 5. And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. 6. For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.”
