Christmas is next. That is a given. But so often we do so much worrying about the activities of Christmas. What do we get for that person, what shall we wear for the office party, when do I need to get a haircut? So many things to do and not a lot of time to do them in.
Food. What groceries will I need because I don’t know for sure who’s coming and when? Shall I send cards or not? Should I bake everything I can ahead of time? Some of us have already started shopping and some of us are nearly done. I think there are even people who have some wrapped.
I love Christmas. I always have. I love the old Carols and the people who take their time to come to our door and sing them. Unless it’s twenty below zero. We always ask them in for that. But what I love most about Christmas is that it makes us stop and think about Jesus as a child and a man. Our God, our loving, caring, providing, forgiving God, who is with us every day of our lives, not just on Christmas. May we remember Them well this whole December.
John 8:31-32 “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed: 32. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 8:54 “Jesus answered, If I honor myself, my honor is nothing: it is my Father that honoreth me; of whom you say, that he is your God.”
